pushkar lake painting

Pushkar Lake - original version

A sacred lake worshiped by Hindus,
and a sacred place for all spiritual people.

The water is the teardrop of Shiva,
and the town contains the only Brahma temple in India.
Brahma is the Hindu God who resides at the very top of the tree,
above all others.

Non Hindus are forbidden from walking on the Ghats, or steps, that lead down to the water,
and photography is banned, though many Westerners disrespect this rule.
I thought it more honourable to paint this picture.

I wasn't happy with this original attempt at the water, the sun's reflection is fine,
but the reflection of the mountain, and the waterline let the painting down, I think.
